I use these for Lifeguard Training courses, in-service training, and on my guard stands. They get beat up pretty thoroughly and last really well. I purchased a regular tube and mesh one at the same time. The regular one lasted about a year before it was picked apart, cracked...etc. The mesh one is still going strong after 3 years, and since then I've ordered several more, all of which are doing really well. My lifeguard team really likes them as well.

We exclusively purchase the 40" Super Tubes for our training courses. They work well in training the Red Cross lifeguard courses, hold up very well, and are easy to clean and store. Most of our locations also use these tubes for their on-stand lifeguards since it is hard for people to pick off the red coating!

Very durable tube, I will not go back to the more flimsy/soft style.

I was not expecting the tuve to feel like plastic. I purchased this tube so that the guards would not pick at it. It will be interesting to see if they do. Although I told them that if I find it being picked at, all guards will have $3.50 deducted from their paycheck to cover the cost of the tube.
